iPhones
For iPhone screen replacements we typically offer three grades of screen.
- Genuine – These are genuine Apple screens sourced directly from Apple (we are an official Apple Independent Repair Provider). This is an Official Apple repair and we recommend it for newer models. In order for us to log the job with Apple you must be able to turn off Find My Phone (this is Apple’s method to verify you are the owner of the phone).
– - Premium Aftermarket – We recommend these screens for older model iPhones where an official Apple repair is cost prohibitive, they are a high quality replacement of the same specification as the original with a high quality glass. Some models may display a non genuine screen message for 4 days after repair and the FaceID on iPhone 12s and newer may not function after repair. If you require FaceID to work we strongly recommend a genuine screen repair.
– - Budget Aftermarket – These are a budget option usually favoured by cheaper high street repairers. We only recommend using these screens if you are looking to repair your phone to get your stuff off or to keep it going for a little while pending an upgrade etc. They are typically a noticeably lower quality screen and will have a low quality glass that will break much easier than a premium or genuine screen. They have a higher failure rate so it is more likely you need to bring it back in after repair.
For iPhone batteries we can supply genuine batteries as an Official Apple repair or premium aftermarket batteries. Typically the premium aftermarket batteries are a high power than the original so last longer. Depending on the battery and phone the iPhone may display a non genuine battery message in the settings and the Battery Health App may not function correctly, the battery percentage will display as normal, but the app won’t display usage stats and health details.
Other Manufacturers
Where possible we use manufacturer original screen for most makes, where an original part is not available we may offer an aftermarket or refurbished alternative but will make it clear what is being quoted for. Generally speaking aftermarket replacement screens for other manufacturers tend to be of lower quality but are sometimes the only available option.
For batteries we can often get originals, aftermarket or both, generally speaking aftermarket batteries are as good as the originals and when both are available we will offer both options.
